As the first images of this year’s snow fall begin to
appear, us as Brits can only think of one thing: “Are we going to get a snow day?!”
Sadly, that wasn’t the case for Huddersfield this Monday morning.
However, like other pictures from around the country,
pictures of the snow have begun to circulate on social media.
A picture like this could be used within local news to
demonstrate the severity of the snow in different areas. For example, a picture
of snowfall on the roads, indicating how this could be affecting traffic and
the daily commutes to and from work for residents of Huddersfield.
Another way in which this picture could make news is the
other possible side-affects snow has on the local area. Like school and road
closures. Local news centres could also discuss what the council are doing in
order to make the area safer for people, for example, gritting the roads.
As well as this, a news item on how to keep safe during the
winter could also be a potential news story.
